The Best Spots to Watch Blues Hockey in St. Louis
On Thu., June 12, 2019, the St. Louis Blues made history: The team won its first ever Stanley Cup after more than 50 years. On Jan. 24-26, the the team will host hockey players from around the country for the 2020 NHL All-Star Game, and fans all over will be watching. From a hockey-themed brewery to a restaurant serving "Goalie Sticks" pretzels, these are our favorite local spots to watch Blues hockey. And yes, they'll definitely play Gloria.

Amsterdam Tavern
Amsterdam Tavern is perhaps best known as one of the city's top spots to watch soccer (the bar is decked out with team flags from across the world), but the Tower Grove South bar is a great spot to catch local sports, too. The bar offers an impressive selection of craft beer, and sister business The Dam serves up top-notch burgers in an adjoining space. Bobby's Place
Bobby's Place is an obvious choice for Blues fans: The restaurant and bar is named for St. Louis Blues legend Bobby Plager. Bobby's Place operates locations in Valley Park and South City (the St. Charles outpost closed earlier this year), and both are decked out in Blues memorabilia from throughout the years. The menu includes bar staples like wings, potato skins, toasted ravioli and nachos, as well as some seriously good St. Louis-style pizza (try the Barclay Supreme with pepperoni, sausage, peppers and onions). There are plenty of TVs tuned to the game, and specials (like$15 domestic buckets, $12 large two-topping pizzas and 70-cent boneless wings) start when the puck drops. Center Ice Brewery
Where can you find Hop Shelf IPA and Puck o' the Irish Stout on tap? Center Ice Brewery, of course. Located in Midtown, the hockey-themed brewery features a bar made with wood salvaged from the long-shuttered St. Louis Arena, hockey stick-shaped tap handles and a painting of former St. Louis Blues right wing Ryan Reaves blowing a kiss at the Dallas Stars' bench. Center Ice doesn't serve food, but guests are invited to bring in food from neighboring restaurants (including Pappy's Smokehouse). John P. Fields
The John P. Fields logo says it all: It's an NHL shield with the letters "JPF" across. If you need more convincing that this is a bar meant for hockey fans, take a look at all the vintage Blues photos lining the walls. Still unsure? There's a goal light with a foghorn on the bar. Drink specials include $15 Budweiser buckets and $4 Smirnoff Blue Bombs during all games. Llywelyn's Pub
If you've ever wanted to drink a beer out of the Stanley Cup, you're in luck – well, sort of. Llywelyn's Pub, which operates six St. Louis-area locations including outposts in Soulard and Webster Groves, is offering a special 25-ounce mug during the Blues playoffs. O'B Clark's
For true Blues fans, O'B Clark's likely needs no introduction. The Brentwood, Missouri, spot has long been the host of KMOX Radio's postgame shows, and as the bar's tag line says, "the game is always on." O'B's boasts 17 flat-panel TVs and two big-screen TVs, so you're guaranteed a great view of the game no matter where you're sitting. The bar is stocked with plenty of beer, and the food menu offers exactly what you want at a sports bar: chicken wings, toasted ravioli, fried onion rings and more than 20 different sandwiches. In the Southampton neighborhood, SOHA Bar & Grill is the place to score great deals during the Blues game. When the puck drops, the bar offers specials like $9 select premium pitchers, $2 burgers and 75-cent wings. There are deals to be had before the game too, as SOHA also boasts an impressive daily happy hour from 4 to 7pm, serving half-price appetizers and drink specials. Sportsman's Park Restaurant and Bar
Sportsman's Park Restaurant and Bar has been a favorite watering hole in Ladue, Missouri, for nearly 50 years. The restaurant opened in 1974 as Jackie's Place; it was originally owned by NFL Hall of Famer Jackie Smith and Norman Probstein before being renamed for the historic ballpark that both the St. Louis Browns and St. Louis Cardinals once called home. The bar is also a favorite of Blues fans (autographed jerseys line the walls) and offers plenty of TVs tuned to the game. The food menu offers well-executed takes on classic pub fare, including standout burgers, chicken tenders and wings. Pro tip: Don't miss the seasoned curly fries. Located a stone's throw from Busch Stadium, The Midwestern Meat & Drink is a clear destination for Cardinals fans, but it's also becoming a hot spot during Blues games. The Note Bar
It probably shouldn't come as a surprise that a bar called The Note is one of the best places to catch a Blues game in St. Louis. Located in the former home of Alumni in Downtown St. Louis, The Note is a hockey-lovers' hub, featuring retired Blues players' jerseys on the walls and TVs throughout. The food menu is even hockey-themed, featuring Pregame Skate (appetizers), Hat Tricks (sliders), Hit the Boards (pizzas), Loose Pucks (sides), Powerplays (soups and salads) and Bring Out the Zamboni (desserts).
